An OEM-Style Bellhousing for Your Tremec 5-Speed Conversion
Tremec’s aftermarket 5-speed transmissions are known for their strength and have been fitted behind everything from early hot rod builds to classic pickups and of course street muscle like Camaros and Mustangs. To help with the installation of a Tremec transmission they have released their own OE-style cast aluminum Ford bellhousing for small block applications such as the Ford 289, 302, 351W, and 351C engines with 6-bolt bellhousing pattern. This Tremec bellhousing will not fit 260 V8 or early 5-bolt 289 V8 engines. This Ford bellhousing adapts the Tremec’s early 4-speed-style bolt pattern to your small block Ford engine while maintaining proper input shaft depth, transmission angle, and more. No additional spacers or adapters are required. Simply confirm your small block is setup with a 157-tooth flywheel and modern diaphragm clutch and bolt this bellhousing in place to easily mount your Tremec TR3550, TR3550-II, TKO, TKO-II, TKO-500, TKO-600, or new TKX 5-speed manual transmission. This is not a T5 bellhousing, so if you’re trying to fit a Tremec T-5 behind your small block Ford we carry the correct T5 bellhousing for the T-5 fitment as well.
Don’t forget to add the correct clutch fork, and the appropriate clutch cable for your build. If you prefer to go hydraulic you can skip the fork and cable route and use something like Ram Clutches TKO Hydraulic Throwout Bearing to convert to hydraulic actuation.
