The typical enthusiast tends to be a Jack of all trades sort. They have dabbled in engine work, handled their fair share of brake and suspension projects, and have probably tackled some interior and wiring fun as well. Where things tend to get dicey for many is aft of the flexplate, the transmission and rear axle. Going inside either of these major components for performance updates or even a simple rebuild from a zillion miles of service usually requires special service tools, a manual full of steps and specs, and a hospital-clean like work area. We know many that have tried to rebuild their own transmission or swap out a rear gear only to have to do it again (or third time’s the charm) to get it right if it is ever right again at all.
Sometimes it is best to simply have your transmission rebuilt instead of investing in all the tools and materials to do it yourself, especially if it is a “one and done” proposition and you’re not planning to rebuild transmissions as a side gig or hobby. The problem with this is often finding a solid and reliable shop that will do the work they say they are going to do and in the timeframe you expect. A Street Friendly Overdrive Transmission That Supports Up To 450 HP
If you’re looking for a solid performing street transmission for your classic pickup, muscle car, or hot rod build with the added benefit of overdrive for those long hauls, our 700R4 Street King transmission is the perfect solution to your needs. Our 700R4 transmission features all new internal wear components such as clutch discs, bands, thrust washers, seals, and more, along with valve body modifications for improved shift firmness. Externally, each 700R4 transmission includes a chrome oil pan with drain plug, making future transmission oil changes easier. Note that lockup only occurs in 4th gear, and you must supply power to the transmission to activate the lockup feature. We recommend a 700R4 lockup kit to make this job easy since the 700R4 lockup kit has the wiring harness and components needed all in one box.
Furthermore, the 700R4 uses kickdown, or throttle valve (TV) cable. The 700R4 TV cable is not included with the transmission due to the many variables involved (carbureted, fuel injected, etc.). We offer several 700R4 TV cable options to get your new Street King 700R4 transmission shifting properly. Every transmission goes through a 23-point inspection process on an Axiline transmission dyno before leaving the factory to confirm shifting ability, line pressures, and more so when it lands on your door step you know it’s ready to go,
Our Street King 700R4 transmission uses the popular 27-spline output shaft, making it a drop in replacement for most any Chevy V8 engine application. Simply select the torque converter that best suits your needs, add a transmission dipstick assembly, and you’ll be in business. Of course, if you are building a project from the ground up, you may also need a flexplate, transmission cooler lines, transmission cooler, torque converter fasteners and other items as well to complete your installation.

Warranties
One year manufacturers defect only warranty. Warranty claims are from the date of shipment, not install. Warranty for defects excludes improper installation, cooling, or useage. Torque converter must be replaced, cooler lines flushed, TV cable adjusted (where applicable), MAF cleaned on electronic transmissions, and DTC codes cleared. Dexron 3 fluid must be used to maintain warranty.
